Alpha Tocopherol is a pure form of Vitamin E, which is a natural antioxidant, providing protection against free radicals. It offers some protection against sun damage and redness from exposure to ultraviolet light. Studies also show that it blocks enzymes that break down Elastin, a skin protein that gives skin its youthful resiliency and ability to “bounce back.” Thus it helps to maintain elasticity in your skin.

When it comes to skincare, collagen plays a big part; it is what holds the skin together, giving it firmness and elasticity. Collagen provides integrity, firmness and elasticity to skin. As we get older, our body's collagen production reduces which can result in an increase of wrinkles and fine lines as well as, decreasing smoothness and suppleness of the skin. These signs of ageing can be treated or slowed down if total body collagen levels can be increased. Maximising collagen levels will keep skin supple. The collagen molecule is too large to be absorbed through the skin topically, so we use ingredients that enhance the skin's own collagen production, synthesis, protection and retention.

Dimethicone prevents water loss by forming a hydrating layer on the skin.It creates a subtle skin glow and feels smooth and silky to touch. It provides a significant amount of emollience and coverage to the skin, without adding any heaviness. It also acts a mild water repellent by forming a protective barrier on the skin, and can fill in fine lines/wrinkles on the face, giving it a temporary “plump” look. It has a scientific rating of ‘non-comedogenic’ which means it should not cause spots.

DEFENSIL® is Cardiospermum halicacabum, Echium and Sunflower seed oils and it is clinically tested to protect and repair the skin, reduce irritation, soften and moisturise. Cardiospermum is effective on itchy and irritated skin. It harmonizes and protects irritated skin. Thanks to its stearidonic acid content from echium oil, DEFENSIL® has an anti-inflammatory, protecting and strengthening the barriers of the skin.

Elastin is a protein, primarily composed of amino acids, that give skin it’s ‘bounce’. The amount of elastin in the skin, reaches its peak production in early adulthood, after which production and skin’s ability to produce and store elastin, slowly declines. Age and other factors like air pollution or direct sunlight will greatly affect elastin too.We formulate using ingredients that stimulate the skin’s Elastin production and synthesis which revitalises and hydrates, to reduce the effects of ageing.

Glypure® 70 is glycolic acid and peels away the ‘grey’, by removing the top layer of dead skin cells. It has been shown to even out skin discolorations, such as age spots, natural blotchiness, and skin damage from over-tanning. It penetrates the skin efficiently, readjusts water percentages in the epidermis, stimulates collagen synthesis and promotes cell turnover rates, helping to remove unhealthy, superficial skin cells (exfoliation).

Salicylic acid is a beta-hydroxy acid derived from the bark of a willow tree. It is a “keratolytic” which is exfoliating.
